Jim and the rest of the staff are great. They are an awesome crew in Modesto and I am very positive its just gonna get better up there too. The bass are under some of the houseboats, senkos, worms. Ripbaits. The jig bite is on if your closer to shore. If you are wanting to get some trout try a silver castmaster, your son can toss this quite far. Use power bait and a bobber for your son too.

12-15lb Yo-Zuri works fine on the lakes. I do use braid as well. Try em both and see what you like best.

You can use pretty much the same stuff you use during the day. Jigs, shaky head with at least a 6" worm or bigger, topwater, buzzbaits work well too. If you have any type of chop on the water throw a wakebait. If its hot during the day, then fish shallow at night, they will move to feed.

Not sure about the upper end but, fished the lower end to the graveyard area and had around 17lbs. We fished to about 1pm. Caught them on Berserk brown and green jigs with a green pumpkin/fire brawler in about 5-15ft. Primary, secondary points. We found fish on beds too.
