Re: ReelEx I have 5 more sets
Got a set of those ceramic bearings on my Curado B-100. That reel was in terrible shape - clacking and making all sorts of noise. Dan fixed it up better than new- that old reel works great!!!
Thanks ReelEX

Re: which do you prefer????
When I can't get them to bite with jigs or tubes I'll drop shot morning dawn roboworms or senkos. You can pick it up in front of their face and drop it back on the bed. Use a stouter than normal set up because of the shorter line. The weight should be no more than 6 inches down. I don't have one go ...

Re: tube/dart head rod
Thanks for all of the suggestions! I kind of liked the 6 footer because I felt I could feel the soft pressure bites easier and had more control on the hook sets. It felt better than the 6'6 and 6'8 rods i used. I use longer rods for other applications. Not sure if it was the length or the model. I'v...

tube/dart head rod
I sat on my favorite spinning rod and busted it in half  It was a 6' Medium BPS extreme Woo Daves tube/finesse rod. That series is discontinued at BPS. I liked it because it was stiffer and more sensitive than the other spinning rods I own (mostly St. Croix avid). I could easily set the hook w...

Re: Cheapest way to ship a rod?
Make sure that you get replacement value insurance on the rods if shipping USPS.
The PVC tube should keep them safe, but the first time I bought a rod and had it shipped without the insurance it came broken in half and I was out of luck.

Re: ROD SHIPPING
the guy at the post office said 12 bucks and he would tape cardboard tubes together.. WTF!! Always get shipping insurance at replacement value when you buy a rod from a private seller. Not everyone is as thoughtful as slimmy houston to make sure they ship it the right way. I've bought two r...

Re: Need Spring tips-
Cammiegirl Are you talking about the Mason Valley Wildlife ponds? If so try senkos - (4 or 5 inch green pumpkin blk flake or watermelon), brass and glass/t-rigged roboworms, carolina rig lizards, split shot or drop shot senkos. The trick is to rig weedless. Haven't been there in a few years, but the...

Almanor info
Does anyone have any info on Almanor? Are the ramps open? Is there ice on the lake? Anyone fished it recently or planning to? Is there a bass bite this early in the season? I have a good friend coming out to visit me in Reno next week and I was thinking about taking him there. Thanks for your help J...

Re: Skeet Reese & Lucky Craft to Introduce New Lure Colo
I've been curious if anyone has had any success with any of the newer LC colors introduced within the past year(s). Skeets Magic? Phantom Chartreuse Shad? Others? How about the extra $ for the "real skin" Lucky Crafts? When I first got really into Bass fishing, I bought every variety of co...

Re: Buckeye & GregD NFR..
Just like Greg said, Ohio State has some great programs. However, one big con is that you can easily get lost in the numbers. There were about 50,000 students when I went there. Wouldn't pass up the full ride at TCU, and it might be nice to have big brother around. I'll PM you my contact info in cas...

Re: Fishing Vs. Football
Greg - I'm always surprised how many of us buckeyes there are out here. I graduated from there in '99 and moved to Reno. When I get extra time between the family (wife and two year old daughter), graduate school, and working full time - I'm more than happy to either fish or watch football on a Satur...

Re: Fishing Vs. Football
Yeah, this was kind of a dumb question (no brainer) to ask a bunch of bass fishing nutcases. I just saw the Ohio State hat in the pic and thought about the many times I pass up watching a good game to go fishing. Guess "hate" was probably the wrong word. I've gotten some flack from friends...

Fishing Vs. Football
First off – way to represent the Ohio State Buckeyes (his hat) to the guy currently in the picture on the WB home page. Is there anyone else who is a big college or pro football fan that hates deciding between watching a big game and going fishing on a nice day? What do you usually choose - fishin...

Re: Almanor in September
Thanks Bill K and Fast 492. I appreciate all the help I can get. I kind of suspected that tubes and senkos may not be the most productive this time of year, but you never know. How about crank baits? Fast 492- I appreciate the help and will let my brother know that another ranger is helping out. Jim...

Almanor in September
My brother, an Army Ranger, and his family are coming out west to visit the week of September 15th during his leave. I was thinking about taking them to Lake Almanor because we live in the Reno area. Has anyone had much luck out there in mid September? I've fished there a few times for smallies duri...

Re: Is the Navionics premium card worth it
What are the main differences between Lowrance Hot Spots Pro West and the Navionics Hot Maps Premium West?
Also, I was told by a Navionic's customer service rep that the delta was on the navionics hotmaps lake maps premium 2007 and 2008. Is that really true?
Thanks for the info.
