the talon draws 30 amps to overcome the 2 locks that hold it up. once running it drops to 5 amps. minnkota has a web page for the talon or read the owners manual. but if you blow the fuse there is a problem. you just have too small a battery or are using it to much for your crank battery to recharge...

take a small screw driver and theres a tab on the bottom of the button.

minnkota makes a 40 and a 60 breaker.
they are in line breakers, a snap to reset if needed.
don't use the thermal ones they take to long to reset.
i run the 40 on my 101 and never popped it.

the fortrex is a rock solid unit about .10% of the play and movement
of the maxuum. they make it easy to remove if your not hard wired into the

the ground wire goes in the motor so a complete
disassemble of the motor to get to the brush plate.
it's a pain. I've done about 12 of them they all worked
except 1 and that came down the the setting on the unit.

the minnkota's with us-2 have a ground wire on the brush plate the connects to the neg side of the light thru a fuze. that is supposed to remove the blacking out. or you could put a wire from the neg side of the trolling motor battery to any ground on the boat. preferably one of the out boards mount...

check all of your connections for rust also, and tightness

if it's a minnkota yes the boards are 24 or 36 volt.

the control board is a 24-36 volt board. the motor will run, but your amp draw will double. so the batteries won't last as long. i only have room in my boat for 3 batteries and i run a 101. the trick is to put in group 31 batteries, group 29 will work. if you go 31's you will have to put in larger b...

i've been advocating the kipawa prop for years. they are every bit as efficient as the minnkota props. same price, and free express shipping. they don't handle the green slimey stuff in the delta, but you get a little more on the top end and working the beds you can turn it down a little since there...

the base on the 52" and longer is much bigger.
with minnkota's the break is 48" then you get the
larger mount. if your running a 45 now you wont
like the 52 its a much larger unit.

that's true, i had to get towed out and pushed it with the boat. just to
