Depending on your personal budget... An oustanding well priced drop shot rod is the Dobyns Champion Series 701SF. Great for 5lb line (So Cal). If the boat is indoors (Garage) open every compartment up and use a wet/dry vac to suck up the excess water. This expedites the drying process.

LoJack is a really good tool for recovering stolen items. The only downside is that it typically doesn't stop theft, it only gets your property back quicker. I just bought my second boat from Anglers Marine. It was a great experience. They have a variety of styles and sizes to choose from. Call them up and ask for Aaron. He made the process very simple and he can get you in the right boat.
