I feather the edge of the spool with my index finger (serious learning curve to get the right amount of pressure to let the line pass and not to stop the line dead cold). I also find it easier to skip a bait 20 feet under that dock and the tree behind it with spinning gear

You are right, the last fish Aaron lost bounced off the gunnel as he tried to boat flip it. Aaron guestimated to be a pound and a halfer too.

He had broken one off earlier in the day and the day before I believe. He figured it rubbed him on the bridge support.
