I showed the image to a US Fish and Wildlife Service fish identification specialist and he said "Sacramento blackfish" and "man, that thing is huge"...cool fish, thanks for sharing.

Ash...I'm not going qnywhere...I have loved this site since I was turned on to NCBF in 99...I try not use Chinese products and Tic toc is one so won't be goin there anytime soon...just my .02....I remember when this site was buzzing and the place to be...I still think it is the place to be and share...

Thanks for the responses...maybe a separate forum for commercial posts about products could be made...maybe replace striper forum with icast forum...just seems to have hijacked the very user driven fishing forum...the bass scoop posts are diluting the posts I come to read...I still think it is spammy

Barbels (whiskers) will not sting you. The boney rays (spines of fins) will puncture your skin and leave infections. Use an old towel to hold fish when taking the hook out. Good luck fishin.

Spoonin' dirty water like the California Delta may require painted spoons. I don' t know for sure but someone told me that the metallic chrome or gold does not show so well when spooning 20+ in the Delta. Someone give it up. What's the skinny for Delta spooning. Not that I lit them up but I caught an unusual number of handsome 10-12 inch largemouth clones this summer from Folsom. Are the clubs or state planting largemouth in the lake or is there some remarkable spawn the last few years? I don't have too many years on the lake but my catches the past 4 years...
