Re: Yamaha Vmax 250 SHO
I'm with Robert on the Pro XS. Two coils in two years, both when I needed the time on the water NOT in the shop. Last go-around they did replace all of the existing coils. Lets hope they last more than 2 years  I know everything has its good and bad... the coils have definitely been the bad fo...

Re: Darter Head Baits ??
I use 6# or 8# seagaur invisix. It is smaller than many other lines, especially the berkley floro. but I have done fine with 8# using 1/8 oz in a flirt worm or fat robo worms. There are also some cool paddle type dropshot baits out that would swim great on a darthead. Usually only go to 6# if i'm fi...

Re: CHP Ticket
Just did a quick read on all of the posts; I may have missed something. Last I heard, it is a felony if you receive a ticket for 20MPH or over; towing or not towing, whether the speed limit is 55, 65 or 70MPH. With that in mind, there would be no "traffic school" to get that one off your ...

Re: Price on Baits
Just my two cents... I can see both sides. I appreciate local shops and always spend a few buck in them when prepping for a tournament in the area, etc. I will gladly spend more on baits to the tune of $4.99/pack vs. $4.39 or something at my favorite online store. That said, I will not even consider...

Re: BTD Question?
since I ran across this thread, and beginning to wonder as well... any dates for 1000 yard, 15# invisix? Not in a big hurry, but it was already billed, so I would expect it soon. PM me if you don't want to discuss on the forum Thanks.

I will second the 734cf. I threw it on the delta a good bit and it works very well with buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, and chatterbaits.

Re: MOST RELIABLE BIG OUTBOARD ???
The Pro XS does NOT need super unleaded and in fact runs on 87 Octane fuel and is the recommended fuel by Mercury. It also runs Premium Plus Oil. Save money on fuel, oil, five year warranty, a wide variety of props to dial your boat in, Carbon Fiber reeds, Offshore gearcase, solid hub, Billett Moto...

Re: MOST RELIABLE BIG OUTBOARD ???
I have heard good and bad about all 3 major brands. I bought an XS merc and in 30 hours have had it in the shop twice. First time was a bad fuel rail, second was a burned out coil-pack. Both were warranty, but aggravating for a motor with so few hours. I ran a carb Yamaha for 8+ years without a lick...

Stren Championship co-angler looking for pro
Looking forward to going to Pickwick in November. If any pros from Cali are headed that way and would like to split expenses, give me a call @ (805)757-6184. I am at Vandenberg AFB on the Central Coast, but could meet wherever to hook-up.

Re: Being BackSeated
Well said Ricky. I think what a lot of co-anglers see as being back-seated is simply the pro keeping his bait in the primary strike zone (burning down the bank making parallel casts) Admittedly it can be tough when your pro is running and gunning making only a few casts at each stop, but if that is ...

Re: My Oroville story-Long
I'm right there with you Ricky-S. I am active duty Air Force, going to school full-time (online), and fishing the Stren series as a co-angler. The school definitely weighs me down this season, but by next spring I should be through and free to fish more. Oroville was my first check in what has been ...

Re: Smallmouth markings and color
What it sounds like you are talking about is called a meanmouth. That is the legitimate name given the hybrid of a smallmouth and spot. They are more common back east around Arkansas, Missouri, and the Tennessee River valley. These two can, and do spawn together when they live in the same areas. The...

Re: Which Tow vehicle would you go with?*NM*
Opinion: A lot of Americans need to start looking at financial statements from the "Big 3" (may as well know where your money is being lost) as well as content of their "American" trucks. There is more foreign content in many GMs and Dodges than in a Tundra. Tundras are built in ...

It is the lake officials at oroville that have been confirming DAILY that it was still on and they could keep the launch ramp going. The tournament director has been calling them every day and one week suddenly the answer has changed? They (FLW) have been calling since early this afternoon. It is ju...

Re: flying with rods in a tube
Thanks for your responses. I guess plano, or make my own tube. I have looked up a few airlines, and they are charging $100 to $150 and it counts as one of your luggage items too. Hope I don't have to fly with my rods, but wanted to buy a tube to travel as a co-angler for Stren, and figure I may as w...

flying with rods in a tube
Anyone fly with their rods in a tube without breakage? What tube would you recommend, and how did you package them? Were you charged extra for the tube as baggage?
I've seen the bazooka pro tube or the Airliner jumbo by plano that might work. Any others?
Thanks for your input

Re: CO-ANGLER NEEDS PRO FOR STREN CALDELTA
They called me today to say they have open slots for both pro and co-angler. There are co-anglers wait-listed but not a full field of pros. I'm pretty surprised there aren't 200 pros who think they can bring it at the delta.

Thanks for the inputs. I'm also considering the Stradic FI since it is only $30. more... The sustain is a bit much since I have other tackle to buy as well but I'm sure it is sweet.

Saros F 1000 or 2500?
Wondering about balance/total weight... which reel to put on a 682sf or 682sxf Powell for dropshotting. Usually 6# floro or P-line CX premium. The 2500 Saros seems like the choice for retrieve rate, and spool diameter, but also seems pretty heavy for the light rod. The 1000 is pretty small, but mayb...

Yeah, since that first Ford was built there sure have been a lot of cheap, knockoff copies flooding the market! I understand not wanting to see the originator losing out on his profit, but certainly if no one else makes the bait eventually supply and demand will either run most of these guys into th...
