Re: WWBT AZ Teams Championship | Mead Final Results
It's quirky because for decades we have made comparisons and established records based on a five fish bag. It's why they don't bring the fences in to 200 feet, expand the quarters in football to 20 minutes, or raise the hoop to 12 feet (or lower it to 9 feet) in basketball. We have standards. So yea...

Re: wheel skates an/or wheel dollies
I have Go Carts by Ranger Products in Santa Paula. They are hydraulic, not mechanical like the more expensive brand. You just put them on the front tires of your tandem trailer wheels. What is left is two tires down, slightly assisted, by the dolly wheels. As long as there is rubber on the ground, i...

With Siemantel, it's not luck. It's the "illusion" of luck. Lot of strong teams in the mix up there; any time you can finish near the top it's a good performance.

Not all would agree, but I put temp meters and balance beams in the same category. It's all relative. And if you're out there, you're stuck with the conditions, anyway.

Re: End of an Era: Uncle Josh to Discontinue Pork Products
While the raw materials might be in short supply, the real reason for the end of pork trailer production is that fishermen don't buy them anymore. Those who have had success over the years will miss them, but for most of a new generation, pork isn't "cool," is messy, needs special care and...

Re: What happens if a World Record is caught outside US; Would scale certification be valid?
IGFA has reps in every country. A record-hunter has to make those arrangements before he goes. I don't think there is any regulation that would keep you from taking a certified scale with you into Mexico, and then having it checked upon your return. Because message board hacks will assail your catch...

Who knows the motivation of the MWD. The late bass fishing attorney Pat Marley always said MWD's charter to build the DVL dam/reservoir included a mandate for recreation, but the water broker always hung its hat on the mantra: "We only do water." That they didn't have an all-level launch r...

I can't prove it, but I sense what Scott H says is likely correct. Dobyns is pure bass fishing. On the other hand, DDG ends up being a little more right. The fact is, we all want our rods/reels, truck, boat and girlfriend to match, but that's kind of superficial. I've handled a lot of other guy's ta...

Of course, I've made many a trip to Cy's over the years for assorted boat tests on Lake Casitas. Better to wait than have to explain a poor showing half way through the season. Not a lot of free money floating around out there. Cut overhead, mimic popular baits, ride the reliable old favorites. That sounds a business operating like a business. If the products sell, they'll keep making them. If they don't, then they'll produce something else. While you always feel for the originators of any bait (especially soft baits) the ...
