When I am in California I use C & C Marine in Modesto for all my boating needs They have done carpet, converted Mercury motors to propane, rewiring, to just general maint.

Also think about an inverter I have found it easier some times to hook my inverter to the pickup and run the engine. Lot less noise than most generators and less hassle than running 12volt wires.
Look at solar battery chargers, I know some of the boats docked full-time at our lake have solar on them

I think the real key to cranking with braided line is to use a softer rod, like a medium action so the hooks don't rip out so easily due to no line stretch. I think you are correct. 15lb Big game for all cranks and top water not in pads or grass. 15 or 20lb braid if I am expecting the fish to get into grass or pads. I have the same bait tied on 2 rods most of the time. One with braid and one with either mono or floro. I still think there are times where the floro out fishes braid

What rod, reel and line combo are you using. maybe the size and style of weight.
You appear to be using a rod that has some give in it. Just interested in action , as I get older I use a hookset more like yours and less like I'm ripping there lips off

Thanks guys for your help. I narrowed it down to a 7'6" MH but am thinking a phenix recon because I have a couple of them in Heavy and know more about them. I just need a little lighter action.

The old days are gone. Fish will not bite on a lure more than 6 weeks old. So throw all those old baits in a box and ship them to Holiday,Fl. care of R Martin, I will see that they are gotten rid of in a safe way. :shock: :wink:

I had that problem. My old repair shop took months to fix anything. Switched to the new Ranger dealer in Palm Harbor, now out within a week :shock:
