Both will balance very good. The full handle feels a "tad" better to me. But, I like full handles so it could be just me :)

Re: Best Football Jig Rod for 1/4-1/2oz jigs

Great questions. I always build some tip into my rods for casting. You will not be disappointed in either of them. For the money here with what you're looking for, the Champ might be better but of course my dealers would love to sell you a DX :) Now you must decide if you want Split or full handle. ...

Re: Best Football Jig Rod for 1/4-1/2oz jigs

I'll recommend two models . We make a DX 744C that will work awesome and It's my personal rod of choice for dragging/fishing jigs. I also made a Champion 744C jig rod. This rod is $100 less than DX and all of our reports from the field, it's a homerun. I back this up with sales numbers too. I don't ...

Re: Dobyns 766 champion flipping questions??!

I agree with driving the hook home for sure with 766 Flip. But, if you're talking about fishing or dragging a jig there's a lot of other rods that we make that still have power to drive hook home and much easier to fish than the 766. I will say that anglers get used to using different rods for diffe...

Re: Dobyns 766 champion flipping questions??!

The 766 Flip is my personal Flipping rod choice. It has enough tip for pitching smaller baits but has plenty of power for any type of punching. It's a great flippin stick. I would not use for frog rod or jig rod. We have far better choices for these techniques. The 766 is a great flippin stick but h...

Dobyns makes two shorter handle SB rods for Glide Baits. The traditional 13"-15" handles get in the way. We make a pair of 7'9" we call SBMT- (Swim Bait Mag Topwater) The rod you really need is Champ 795 SBMT. It was made for this.
