Re: Delta Swim Jigs
I like the dirty jig finesse as it has less skirts strands. I take a twin tail Yammamoto grub in green pumpkin, purple/gold flek and dip 1/8-1/4 inch of the tails into chartreuse spike it. Flip it, swim it, they eat it!

Re: Clear Lake Ramp Update Feb 8 and Mussel sticker INCREASE notice!
Reminds me of being there a couple years ago with a guide and some lady screaming at us for fishing in front of her house. Cursing left and right. What amazed me was here I was, paying over $1000 for two days of fishing, filled up my truck both days $50-$60, spent $40-$50 each day at Safeway, had lu...

Re: Spinning set ups for all bass fishing methods?
Great question. When a rod starts out as a blank it has no idea if it will be spinning or casting and any rod offered as a casting could have very well been built as a spinning rod. Obviously never minding practicality, like a 8ft broomstick not being the best option for a spinning rod. However, the...

Re: Cal Delta Sealions
Huge female in Franks this year outside of Russos. Looked right at home swimming between the reeds in 4ft of water. She was twice the size of all the others I have seen in there. I can ignore the pups, something like this swirling in the grass rods distance from the kayak ups the pucker!

Re: Obama speeds up review of Twin Tunnel project
Yeah, all you conservatives take the high road and keep your mouth's shut. That tactic hasn't worked in years. At least Trump was smart enough to figure that out. We've been getting crap rammed down our throats for well over a decade so its time to fight fire with fire. They don't respect us so i'm...

Re: Torture Testing Rods with Gary Dobyns
Wanted to pass on my praise for the Fury 795 swimbait rod. Been killing lingcod on it all season! Without a doubt the best constructed rod available for that price. If I had to make one change it would be the guide sizes. Tone those down to give the blank a bit more life. Handle length and taper is ...

Re: split shot rig
Very effective technique for me for many years. Not sure why its lost favor other than maybe liking to power fish more these days. Best plastic hands down during use was a roboworm alive shad in hologram for clear water, ayu color for slightly green. Locally this is a fish magnet at Anderson Res. De...

CA DMV - Kayak Trolling Motor Reg. Fee
Just FYI to those looking for heads up - To put a 12v trolling motor on a plastic kayak the CA DMV wants $213. Update 8/11: After some digging the DMV is telling me $100+ of that amount was them charging me sales tax on the kayak. I guess that would make the fee around $100. Apologies for confusion.

I like Zap-a-Gap because it dries clear and holds strong. Some of the others dry white.
If- that's an issue for what you're doing.
