Re: Line Question from a NY Transplant

SoCal has some of the toughest fishing in the country. A combination of not enough lakes, too many fishermen, clear water....all adds up to very high fishing pressure and very educated fish. This is why so many SoCal anglers are stud fishermen. They must learn every trick in the book, they have unbe...

Shasta Lake WWBT this Weekend!!!

We’ve received many questions about Shasta, particularly due to the Oroville concerns. The Oroville evacuation has been lifted to advisory and the lake has now dropped to 874 feet as I write this. It’s down 28 feet from when the problem was noticed and is forecasted to be at the 850 foot goal late F...

WWBT Clear Lake - March 11th

We’ve been getting a lot of questions about the Clear Lake team event on March 11th. As you may know, Clear Lake has stopped all power boats on the lake as of 2-14. We are still planning to have the event unless the lake is closed to boats. If it is closed, we will reschedule for a later date. If we...

Thanks Jim. I'll make another post here shortly about Shasta too. We won't have a full list of boat numbers until guys sign in. I'm sure we'll take a hit on numbers because of evacuations. But I think we've broke 120 pre-signs . Plus we always get a bunch at the lake. So it's going to be big event s...

Damn right it would. You'd need different rod for every pizza topping to do it right. Fury Series for one topping, Sierra Series for two topping, Champion Series for 3 topping and combinations would certainly require a DX. How many you need shipped today ? :)

There's a need for both casting and spinning. I couldn't imagine throwing a swimbait, A-Rig, heavy jig, Spinnerbait, and so on with spinning. I like to use a 5.1 or so gear ratio. It simply helps me fish the bait slower without having to concentrate to slow down!! I like fishing fast but with certain baits it's counter productive. Huds are one of these baits. Worst case, I wouldn't want to fish over a 6.1-6.3 gear ratio for Huds.
