the old chargers used to be " analog" based and could end up overcharging a battery ---which shortens the life of the battery . Most of the newer units are "digital " designs and will not overcharge the batteries .
I bought one of the newer Dual units and it works fine .

trailer tires , regardless of how they look or how many miles are on them , if they are 4 to 5 years old , replace them . I had some tires that were just over 5 years old , both looked perfectly good on the outside but one looked really bad inside and was starting to "bubble " and separate .

not recommending any particular brand , but some comments to see if anybody has heard the same . Never keep tires longer than 5 years regardless of how many miles are on them ? Always keep your tries inflated to max pressure rated on the tires ---keeps the sidewall from flexing therefore heating up ...
