Do you ever get to fish just for fun anymore, or is a pro's time so valuable on the water that every outing is planned for a puropse?

We were fishing the McCloud river arm at Shasta, aways back in an inlet. We heard a ruckus in the brush way up the steep bank to our right. It sounded like something crashing through the undergrowth very fast...comming right towards us. Suddenly a deer came flying out, bounding down the bank and rig...

Hey guys...I am working on getting a place on the golf course at Buckingham to rent out for fisherman. It is 3br 2ba with a game room, big driveway (you can eaisly park two rigs) and comes with keys to a private launch 1blk away. You can idle to Konocti in 5mins! To my thinking, a fisherman picking out a rippin rod is like a golfer picking out a putter...there are a great number of products out there. Many different lengths, handles, weights and actions. Not everybody rips the same way, has the same size hands, or is the same height. You gotta find what work...

I hope Cooch or some of the "rats" answer this, cuz I'm no expert. My experience is the "bite window" or active period just becomes extremely short. Tidal migrations become shorter, and you need to be on the fish when they are ready to bite. Check out Vince Hurtado's article on w...

A 6' 6" med hvy fast taper can be used for many applications like dropshottin, dartheads, light T-rigs, split-shottin, and small hardbaits. It's like anything else though...when you get really into a certain technique you will refine based on your needs.

The hook style may be determined by the type of mold or head style you have chosen. Most molds require a fairly specific hook type to fit the channel provided. Some use a 60 degree bend, others use a 90...You need to pick a head style, pick out a mold, and buy hooks recomended for that mold.
