Hey Jigginpig
Great information.............I always wondered about attractants. Now I'm glad I didn't spend a fortune on them. I have noticed a better bite on Smelly Jelly tho, did you happen to use it in your tests ? Please keep us informed on futher tests also. Again, thanks for posting

It sounds like a pressure leak. Check to see that the fluid level is full, then check the fittings, and hoses for leaks. Might also be a seal alowing fluid pass in the pump.

Greg, I'm on the road all week, (OTR Truck Driver) and use an amplfied set of "rabbit ears" from Radio Shack. Works pretty good and there are a number of stations that I get depending on where I'm at. I would check and see what channels are available in your area by standard antenna before...

Re: pitchin reel recommendations
Any GOOD quality reel with at least 6 bearings, and have adjustments for free spool and magnetic brakes is what you need. I personally use Shamino Curado 200 BSF's. The secret is in setting the brakes and free spool correctly. The free spool should be set just tight enough to hold the bait being use...

Re: Leader line, uni to uni knot with braid?
As in tying all knots, be sure to WET the knot before snugging it down. I've used the uni-uni knot system for many years without problem at the knot. I also find it to be much stronger than a 50% breaking point, not sure what, but I know it's much better than that.

According to what I've read, tires are "Old" at 4 years and should be replaced. Anything after 6 yrs are considered unsafe. Check with a local tire shop for further info. If they've been protected from the sun, and show no "checking" you might be ok. If you're running a single ax...

Re: Drop Shot with Braid with Fluoro Leader?
I've been using this set up for a good many years, QUIETLY. I started doing it long ago for the Delta to fish in the tules and matts, and then on to lakes because of the increased feel. It definatly cuts down on line twist. I use a uni-uni knot and a rod length leader for lakes and a 3-4 foot leader...

This issue can not be mentioned enough. The Bendsmender is the best $5.00 you can spend. Thru the mouth is MUCH better for the fish and is the easiest way to do this. Before I went Shimano exclusive, ( Curado and Sustain )I had Okuma Metaloids. They're a great spinning reel for the $ 79 price tag. I buy reels not for the number of bearings but for the smoothness of the drag, and Okuma more than exceeded that requirment, plus had 11 bearings to boot !!!!

One more "tip" for towing a boat..........STAY OUT OF THE FAST LANE. You are more noticeable when running in the hammer lane than in the slow lane. The CHP picks up on the cars in the fast lane quicker. ALSO........ believe it or not, the condition of your whole rig can make you more visab...

It depends on weather your looking to just cover it while parked at home or cover it for towing. I had a cover at home that I bought at Wallmart for about $100 that worked just fine, but I wouldn't try to tow with it. Have them call road conditions as they come west. Utah is 511, Navada is 800 346- 3732, and California is 800 427-7623. I run western states and I-80 is one of the most kept northern routes to run. Even when the snow is heavy, they tend to keep the roads clear as quickly as possible.

Re: boat ?
Depends on the age of your boat as to warrantee, but most boats will experance this. I think a lot of it is due to the way it's driven in rough water. The pounding the wave puts a lot of stress on them and the longer the boat the more they can be stressed. Slow down in rough water and learn to "...
