Texas is out been there too many times to mention over 50 years in the aerospace business. Good fishing for sure but the weather sucks and in recent years too many Californians have spoiled the politics and acceptance of the local folks.

Time changes everything. The statement the southern San Jauqine Valley was a desert is false, lake Tulare was largest lake west if the Mississippi 150 years ago, now the Tulare basin.

To the best of my knowledge all low profile Abu and Lew's reels are made by Dobo in Korea*. JDAM Shimano reels are made in Japan.
