san luis res. report
Went out to San luis last saturday evenning. Me and my cousins caught a total of 3 stripers in the 30 inch to 37 inch range off of basalt. Other people fishing in the area also caught the same size stripers. We were dunking anchovies and blown up blood worms. We probably caught and release more then...

Re: san luis - basalt
On Weds. my dad and uncles were fishing across from the dam and some people who were fishing on the dam were forced to move out. The dam is off limit. Most of the people fish the dam at night. Rangers and security are rarely there on the weekends. If they do see you they will ask you to move out.

Re: san luis - basalt
I use to go in the mornnings, but lately I have been going in the evenning to night. Last week there was a striper boil close to the dam. Stripers were smashing from left to right. It was not small boil, but loud splashes everywhere next to the dam. I'm going back there today. We'll see what happens...

Been going out there last week. I think 3 times last week and caught limits each time. Last Sunday, went out at 4pm to basalt area and witness striper boil close to the dam at around 7-8pm. None of my buddies wanted to walk the distance with me. Totally regret not walking to the boil.

I'm from fresno too. I was fishing Pine flat Lake as well. What I did notice was that when I was catching them the fish was shallow. Like 5-10ft of water. Anything beyond that was quiet. Instead of texas rigged senko, I was throwing them wacky style. Natural shad was my go to color. funny..same thin...

Went out yesterday to do some bass fishing. Launched at 4pm. Bass was hitting from like 4:30pm to around 6:30pm. Did really good tossing senkos, but had a difficult time with a few things: 1. bass size were mostly 10-12 inches. 2. Threw senkos for about 2 hours then it seemed like the bite slowed do...

When walking the bank or shoreline. Are you more comfortable with one or two rods? I find it difficult having to carry one rod and fishing one rod.
