Current is key, frogs, buzz bait, chatterbaits & senkos will get you bit.
Bites aren't accidents, key in on where, why, what bait and tide then repeat once you start catching....

Replacement treble hooks ...
So I'm going to start replacing trebles on my square bills and whopper ploppers but I'm torn on selecting a hook.
I'm kind of torn between the Mustad KVD 1X or the Gami Finesse Gs.
I've never used the Mustads, any complaints or issues with the off set?
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Powell 3D 705CB I considered the 705 but my concern was how stiff the tip and action is for running 1.5s or even 2.5s. I have a 755cb and that thing is hefty. I can't accurately cast 2.5s because of how stiff it is. It doesnt load up on the cast. The plus side is that it's an amazing chatterbait &a...

I was considering the Powell 3D 6104CB. Does anyone own this rod?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: HOW much FLEX does your PUNCH/FLIP rod have
I personally use a Lews 7'11" Magnum casting rod. It's actually a swimbait / A rig rod so it has a moderate fast action. I love that rod for punching. It handles the heavier weights beautifully and loads up great without pulling hooks while having plenty of back bone. I've pulled multiple fish ...

Some great info in this thread. I've had good success over the last few weeks on top. The one thing that all those bites have in common was distance between the fish and the bait depending on tide height. The closer the bait is to them (lower tide) the more likely that they are to react and eat it. ...

Very nice, your far more patient than I am. I almost never throw a senko because of how slow the presentation is. Re: Delta Woes
Weather, tide, timing and presentation are key to getting bit consistently on the D. Some locations fish better than others but if your throwing the wrong presentation at the wrong time it doesn't matter where you are.
Key your presentations to tide timing and you'll see more consistency.

Thanks, I was thinking that it could be too rich or too much fuel which gets the plugs wet and won't allow them to spark when it's re fired. I'll give those suggestions a shot.

My buddy has a 1973 Johnson 2 stroke 65hp that fires up great, idles smooth & runs strong from the ramp on the first run. But, after you turn it off and try to re start it it refuses to start again. It cranks but will not fire.

That reaper still catches them 8) I tend to go as light as I can given the cover. Some areas that's 3/4 oz, others it's 1.5oz. It all depends on what's in front of me. The rate of fall can be the difference. Use a snell knot, I have used a Palomar knot but my hook up ratio is better with the snell. ...

Right on! I noticed that the bite slowed each day so I figured that the fish were moving up onto beds even though I couldn't see any.
I had a great week though. I managed an 8, 2 7's and on Tuesday my best 5 went over 26. That said I had fewer bites each day, now I know why.

Good advice, especially how tide can effect areas. There's a lot of submerged hazards that tide can hide. Just be smart, mark or make mental notes of sand bars and hazards that you see or graph.
