Hey everyone, I just finished signing up as a boater for the pro-teen and had to post both a thank you and a call to boaters. We ended up winning the College Regional Tournament with 36 pounds for 3 days. The Pit arm is the only place you should really be fishing, we ran up the Sac Arm Day 1 and had 7.5 pounds and were sitting in last place, Days 2 and 3 we fished up the Pit and had an 18 and almost 11 pound bag. Absolutely correct that the lower water concentrated the fish. I had back to back days with 22.31 then 24.50 for my best 5 off of one point. It was the only point within a quarter mile each way, every big fish was pushed to that spot. Now that the lake is up those fish have really spread out!

Re: Where have all the giants gone?

I do think the spotted bass compete with the largemouth, at least in the lakes I fish. Dropshotting bridge pilings will usually produce 3 healthy spots and a skinny ugly largemouth. I think the spotted bass hurt the true trophy potential of a lake when the fish have to compete directly, such as in a...

I didn't know boating and drinking was illegal. I assumed it wasn't from what I've seen on the water. They just need to enforce that. I see boating as a right, and unless you do something to lose that right (drinking/unsafe boating), it should not be regulated. I see your point Mr. Poulson, and if t...

We're trading freedoms for supposed safety. One more way the state can regulate us and our money. I don't like it at all, I'd rather deal with people who don't know what they're doing. With the amount of alcohol involved in most boating activities, I dont think unfamiliar/new boaters are the cause o...

Melones events are pretty rare, most likely because that lake fishes SMALL! There are only so many main lake points to throw Hudds over Haha! Even when there are only 20-30 boats on the lake, I notice a drop in numbers, size, and overall activity.

When you think you're fishing slow, fish slower, and I don't mean letting your jig sit there then popping it a couple times, I mean soak it, but never let it sit in one place for too long. Slow dragging black senkos was how we caught all of our fish last weekend.
