They always have great deals on boats at the BAT. Last year they had Forrest Wood and Randy Hopper from Ranger at the show.

Give them a call to get an estimate.

All the dates look good except the one in September. I think an October/November time frame for the last two gives everyone a shot to fish the US Open and steers clear of fiscal year end for the federal gov't.

Top water is all about cadence. You have to figure out how the fish want that bait. Sometimes they will slam it no matter what you do with it. I tend to have more success working it and then getting hit on the pause. I like the Sammy 100 in the standard lucky craft colors (ghost minnow, chart. shad,...

I fished out of a 518 during a pro-am at Mohave and we smoked quite a few boats crossing the basin. Not sure how it will handle the rough water, but its going to be fast.

Re: Help with west coast fishing

You can get away with throwing heavier line for texas rigging, senkos and spinnerbaits. I will use 16 lb sugoi in the tules and trees and then switch to 5 or 6 lb sugoi when using spinning tackle.

If you're going into the thick tules use 50 or 65 lb braid for flipping.

Texas rigs in the trees and tules. Spinnerbaits slow rolled over the trees....Senkos in the tules and trees. Dropshotting/split shotting when all else fails. Not much different than back east, just with lighter line.

I think in certain situations it does work, but its definitely a marketing bonanza. I don't see where a red hook will outcatch a black one. I haven't experience it myself yet. Just open a bass pro catalog and look at all of the bleeding bait series with red dots, trebles, feathers, etc.
