I'd rather not even bother fishing the team tournaments. If I'm going to spend my time and money to fish a derby, I'm going all out and fishing FLW. Its harder to take off a week to week and a half to fish them though than it is to fish a team tourny.

I had caught an 11 and a half a few weeks prior. Fish made a mad run jumped once, yelled to get the net, jumped a second time and spit the worm in slow motion.

It dwarfed the 11 easily.

My dad took me and my brothers fishing as kids on the AZ lakes, Apache, Roosevelt, Saguaro and Canyon. I got hooked as a kid and gave it up for basketball when I hit my teens. I moved to the OC and starting fishing again in 1996. I've been a bass fishing nut since.

There was no way I would have signed up to fish Mead in February. Its too early to be out there with the possibility of big wind. I'll wait for the Delta here in a few weeks.
