Exide does not make batteries, as most suppliers do they have them made for them by Johnson controls. I believe there are only two battery manufactures at this time, Johnson Controls and Deka. Are the connectors burnt or the wires as well, It sounds more like a poor connection at the battery which can create enough heat to melt the connectors and the wires close to the bad connection.

Whats to compare, I sold and have for sale all my Powell and loomis rods to upgrade to Dobyns rods. I have a hard time believing that any one would want any thing else after using his rods. I do not have to worry about adding water They can be cycled at least twice as many times (discharged and recharged). Their CCA will not fall off as they age as quickly as a conventional lead/acid battery I feel they have the best balance of Reserve Capacity to Cold Cranking amps. I use the same bat...

What Burke said. The most painless way to do it. Make sure the victom turns there head away so they do not jump. Cut all the other hooks off first. Use a quick snap.

If you wire 2 12v in paralell be sure to use the + off one and the - off the other. Do not come off the same battery. You also could try 2 6v in series. I really think cheating is more rare than many think. However to put this to rest my suggestion would be to, at half the events re-pair the partners in the teams with a drawing, same partner just fishing with another teams boater. Three fish for each partner, six total. That way your own competition...

Don't do it, you will probably regret it. Gel Coat can be sprayed on and refinished to a like new finish. In many cases a faded finish can be color sanded and polished to look new again.
