25 lb P-Line CXX for me. I've found the stretch of 25 lb mono to be critical to how I play my fish... its that last little fail safe when you need a bit of give boatside.

I don't know who he is but most of his stuff is strange at best, innappropriate at worst. I wouldn't want to be the dad who put a picture up of my little girl last week only to return that afternoon to see her holding some strange middle-age man. Not cool.

Re: swimbait reels

Twinger, My experience with the lower profile reels is not so much a matter of feel as much as a matter of components. The positive aspects of the larger calcuttas are first that they hold more line. Its not that you really need that much line to throw a swimbait but if you have it a major break off...

I use the 400 series Calcuttas. I've had no problems with Shimano, which model you choose is based on your budget. The Cardiff will work but just isn't as smooth as the higher models, whether or not that matters depends on how much you use the reel. The Calcutta TE or the Conquest are AWESOME choice...

Ron, Next time you shoot a bunch of photos of a 10 lb plus bass take a look at the pics in a row. You will notice that in the first couple photos the fish looks very balanced, the more photos you take the more their belly will sag downward and bulge out just forward of the anal fin. I did not notice...

I'd stick with the 25 lb, personally I use P-Line.
