Re: Advice on set-up for limited electronics i have

You should consider mounting the LSS on the back of your boat (jackplate mount preferred if you have one, otherwise on the transom in such a place where you get unobstructed sidescan views), and use it with your HDS-7. It provides DownScan also. Replace you HDI transducer with a standard 2D transduc...

Really hard to diagnose issues when we can't see what you are seeing. If you take a screen shot on your TI2 and post the image we can give good advice. I agree with Ken. You might also consider checking with your insurance carrier to see if you have coverage for a claim. With my insurance company (USAA) this would be a covered claim on my boat insurance (I added coverage for contents) but would also be covered on my homeowner's insurance.

Re: Ca delta bubba shot?

Best weight for Bubba Shotting is a QuickDrop, and besides all the small sizes they come in 1/2 oz, 3/4 oz, and even 1 oz. The teardrop shape punches a hole in the mats so the worm follows without fowling, and the shape allows the weights to come back out of the mat easily without grabbing weeds.

I have caught many big bass dropshotting; including a 9 pounder during a tournament dropshotting a wacky rig 6" Senko with a 3/4 oz QuickDrop. Big lures equal big bass; dropshotting to me is a presentation, your lure is limited to your imagination.

I sell more 1/4 ounce QuickDrops than any other size by far. 3/16 oz. Is the next most popular size. That being said, I have personally won far more money in tournaments using 3/8 ounce, and the 1/16 oz sizes. People tend to stick with something that worked, and fail to try other sizes. Based upon what you have described, I would guess your software update (18.3) did not work in your console unit. In each HDS, go to System Settings and look at the About screen to verify which software version you have in each unit.

OK, if you confirmed the 7.0 software is on your unit, just to confirm your StructureScan is set to DownScan under view? You will not see FishReveal on the Sidescan menu, but will on the DownScan menu. If this isn't the problem, then I would do a soft reset. If that didn't work, next would re-instal...
