Re: WesternBass Truck/Boat Decals & Jerseys

Sweet! I would most likely place a decal on my rear window or perhaps boat windshield. As far as designs, simplicity usually is best. It should be instantly identifiable for onlookers. Composition also makes it more attractive (i.e. circle, oval, rectangle, symentary etc). My best friend is a succes...

Re: Alabama Gig/ Umbrella Rig Banned!

You dont have to participate in his tournaments if you dont like his rules. Simple as that. In a way its a benefit to have the choice to fish tournaments that either allow it or dont allow it. Be thankful you have options. Doesnt that make everyone happy? If you're for the rig, compete in the tourne...

Re: What do you do in the fog? Safety Issue

I would either not put my boat in the water or stay in a marina. But I suppose if I was caught out in the fog far from the marina, I would do the same things as Caudawg with the addition of honking my boat's horn countiuosly.

Re: When Is it Ethics Vs Encroachment ?

I share the same mentallity as OffDuty. As a recreational fisherman I ask for nothing more than common curtousy. Tournament or not. I've labored intensively to enjoy my time on the water and that demands as much respect as any one else out there. When confronted with a situation where I may end up o...

Re: Yamaha vs. Mercury?

Sorry brother. I'm sure filing for the Lemon Law would've been a major pain. As far as I understood it, it covers boats (don't see why an outboard wouldn't qualify. That's a downer) and once you're the Lemon Law is put into place you receive all monies back. Including legal fees. But unfortunately t...

With all that said, just go out and get a diesel in 2wd and be done with it. You wont worry about towing anything anywhere! +1 on a diesel. Years ago I had a f350 and launched a jet ski when the water level at berryessa was really, really low. Got stuck in the mud and my dad's buddy yanked us out w...

Re: New boater questions & help please!

You should be able to find a wheel jack for the trailer for as cheap as $30 at a marine store. They bolt on to the tongue. Pretty straight forward. It will make life easier if your trailer didn't have one to begin with. As far as onboard chargers, it's something you do between fishing trips. You sim...

What's the percentage of the worlds food supply that CA grows? It's up there I know that. . 80% of produce on the national and international market is from California. Furthermore, produce is graded. Grade A produce goes out over seas for it's superior quality and top grabbing dollar. Grade B and C...

Re: Which of these two would you pick?

My Tahoe serves the same purposes that you seek. My girlfriend hauls around kids and it pulls all of our towables without effort. I prefer my Ford F150 for better mileage but it doesn't tow my 20 footer quite as nicely as my Tahoe. Toyotas have a great track record but you don't see too many Seqioua...

Re: New to Bay Area/Franks Tract Question

The other day I went fishing just on the other side of the wall in franks tract. I launched from Russo's (next to sugar barge). I didn't wanna fill up my tank so I made it a point to stay close to the marina. I threw cranks and spinners and got a fish on nearly every cast. Granted they were all dink...

Great tackle shop. Jim (if I remember correctly) is always helpful. He was my go to guy when I first started fishing CL a couple years ago. He does the little things that attract my regular business like free candy bars, not charging me tax for buying his store's shirt and adding a few extra jumbo m...

Re: I want to right a wrong ! Outing Guides !

I fail to believe that a bass guide, in particular, is simply a boat for rent with a driver that takes you to a honey hole. I'm sure there is a fair number of those types of clients hiring guides but less so for black bass. I'd say the opposite it true--I think most people who go out on guided bass...

Re: I want to right a wrong ! Outing Guides !

By defination a guide is hired to take you to your destination. An instructor is a teacher. If you looking for a bass fishing instructor to teach you how to bass fish and you don't know where the bass are located, the instructor becomes a guide. If you just want to learn a particular presentation f...

I'm just saying a gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone when your bleeding. I would not pull a weapon on anyone over an argument . It's only as a last resort . However being a Marine I always maintain the tactical advantage. I do beileve 99% of all situations can be settled or avoided a...

I want a return on my investment and thats knowledge +1 My money is for knowledge. I can catch fish without a guide but he can tell me why I'm catching the fish or in some cases, why I'm not catching fish. Personally I would want the guide to fish with me. A couple weeks ago I was landing lots of fish on a red & black crank in stained water. My buddy got a couple on a shad color. We then went into a clear dead end slough and the tables had turned. His bites were off the scale on his shad color and mine stopped altogether. I was on the bow so I was...

Re: Who Catches The Fish, Guide or Client ????

I don't view it as how many fish me or the guide is catching. It's all about gaining knowledge. I would be more upset if the guide pulled up to a honey hole and said "knocke em out". I want information and lots of it. That's where the value is. However, if you're a non boater that hires a ...
