Northwest Bass Championship - Banks Lake
Last weekend was the championship tournament for the Northwest's largest and most prestigious team trail, Northwest Bass. Each year the event is either at Banks Lake or the Columbia River at the Tri-Cities and awards a boat to the top team. We even had California's own Kent Brown serving as the emce...

Summer Fishing Mix
I put together a video of some clips from my summer fishing trips in the Spokane area. There are many, many lakes in the area and this video shows clips from Badger Lake, Loon Lake and Long Lake. All of which are about 30 mins from my house. Summer in the northwest is usually all about the drop-shot...

Banks Lake Bass Fishing
Banks Lake in Eastern Washington is a favorite among tournament bass anglers. Many of the major team trails have their year end championship on this lake and I would guess that it may the most popular tournament lake in the state. My tournament partner Dan Rice and I will be fishing the Northwest Ba...

Lake Chelan Smallmouth
Last weekend I fished Lake Chelan in central Washingto State. It was for the final qualifier for the TBF and it was an awesome experience. The lake is unlike any other I have fished: very deep, huge smallmouth and ultra clear water. I grew up fishing Lake Mead and Chelan is as clear, or more even mo...

Moose Encounter While Fishing
Living in the Northwest, I am lucky to see all kinds of wildlife while fishing. Bald eagles, deer, turkeys and more are just part of the fun. I was recently fishing on a local lake and came across three moose. They didn't even give me a second look as they were eating from a fruit tree that was in a...

I have lived in the Southwest and also in Florida and I still feel that Washington state has the best bass fishing around. The amount of four and five pound fish is crazy an...

Here in the Pacific Northwest, we were in a heat wave over the past two weeks. Temperatures at and above 100 degrees are not that common and it was like that for almost two weeks. The best thing about it was the topwater fishing we have been experiencing. Our topwater season is relatively short up h...

Used to live in Vegas and fish those lakes..so there were too many hot days to pick one, definitely in the 110's. Now I live in Washington State and fish until the last week of November and start in early March...so too many cold ones to have one stand out...WELL below freezing is all I can say.

All of the size limits do not apply to tournaments. You're right the regs are pretty confusing. At least the tournament isn't in May or June...then we have regs on how many largemouths we can keep.
There is no special culling rule, just do it as you normally do.

I will be coming down on Sunday the 16th. I have already fished it a few times this summer. I can't wait! There are plenty of Wal-Marts and places like that to get licenses, or you can do it online. I think you will need an Oregon license if you plan on locking down to Boardman.
