I knew most of the members of both clubs during the 80’-90’s meeting for lunch at Val Whites Action Tackle. Long list of good sticks in both clubs and always enjoy the bantering between the members. 3 hours run time per outing is a lot for the average bass boater. Average run time on California lakes is probably under 10 hours annually.

Re: SoCal local bass fishing fishing reports
The evolution of internet communication away from sites like WesternBass is an issue for sure.
This site was mostly SoCal content, then all the replies became PM sent. The NorCal content stayed consistent until the past few years.
Guess I will fold the tent on WB and move on.

Re: Seaguar Red Label
The most important factor with fishing line is your confidence using it.
seaguar today offers 25 yard spool of Gold Label FC for $18 and sells Red label 200 yard spool of FC for $18. Is Gold label 8 times better or 8% better, that depends on you!

Nothing has change regarding making a living bass fishing on the west coast, couldn’t do it 30 years ago for the same reasons, little to no public turnout to support tournaments. There is a reason western pros for over 3 decades moved to the heartland.

The DFW has a duty to survey lake Casitas regardless of squabbles with the crazy Ojai water board members. Casitas isn't a Private lake it’s a Public lake! Be careful with the amount ice you add. Drop the temps 10 degrees quickly can kill bass. Over the counter 3% hydrogen peroxide 1/2 cup to 15 gallons is safe and creates life saving DO. Re: striper rod for the bay
Apparently the 12-15 lb mono line is being over looked, you simply can’t cast mono line over .010D using standard bass size spinning reels. You need a 4000 size reel and that puts you into swimbait type rods or....inshore spinning M or MF spinning rods. 765 SF would solve this.

Re: striper rod for the bay
12-15 lb mono/FC will require a larger size 4000 spinning reel, the rod should be balanced for a larger heavier reel imo. If you go with braid the 3000 bass reel size works along with bass spinning rods.

Cooch had Iovino make him a similar color darker green back. Bass anglers tend to use hooks with wire the size used on frog hooks and strong enough for 300 lb tuna. The larger the hook wire the more force needed to penetrate passed the hook barb. Once a hook has penetrated passed the barb to pulling...
