Re: IKE~ REVISITED
Pro athletes shouldn't be viewed as role models in fishing and in every sport. They do their job which is to fish, they aren't getting paid to be role models. I mean come on, this Ike thing is ridiculous. The stuff he does is aired on TV, it ain't that bad! This is ESPN we are talking about not HBO....

Tons of guys troll swimbaits. You don't hear many people talking about it though. I would take that as a "Yes" it works.Grape Ape wrote:I recently had heard some guys are actually dragging a swimbait around with their trolling motor. Hmmmm Is this working?

Re: IKEs NEW SHOW
Ike is crazy, I'd love to fish with the guy. He just seems like a fun guy to be around. Sure he's got a temper but not everyone is a role model and just because he's a pro bass fisherman doesn't mean he has to act like a role model.

Re: Have you Been Cited?
What part of this is unclear? Just curious. Only thing I can think of is the "engaged in taking fish" part. I guess if you have none in the well and you don't have a fish on the line at the time you could say you weren't actually engaged in taking any fish. lol From the DFG site. Possessio...

Re: Have you Been Cited?
I look at it like this. The rangers have better things to do than stop every boat and every bank angler to check licenses. I help them out by displaying mine and not wasting my time or theirs.

Re: Wearing your License
It definitely happens. It just depends on how nice the ranger is. I just wear mine so I never even have to have that talk with the ranger. He sees it hanging from my neck and bothers someone else.Slippy wrote:i keep mine in my wallet and have never been harrased for not having it exposed.

Re: Wearing your License
On busy lakes its a good idea to wear your license whenever you are fishing. The fine is some ridiculous amount like $300-$500. I have heard of people complaining about getting fined. Its not uncommon on some of the southern lakes that have a lot of traffic. For those who frequent Naci, isn't ok to...

Re: Pros and guides (You guys that do it for a living)
Greg, just take a ziplock bag with you and squirt some scent into it and then tie your bait on and drop it in the bag. You never touch it and it doesn't get all over the boat.

Re: Pros and guides (You guys that do it for a living)
I had this very discussion with my buddy last sunday. He claimed to only use fish scents on his senkos because it did not resemble a craw, and craw scents only on jigs.
I won't tell you my opinion since I am not a pro.

Re: Top water time yet?>?
I think it's funny when people talk like there is a good topwater bite all year. Obviously you can catch them all year but it's not as if topwater in the middle of winter when the water is in the 40's and the fish are deep is going to be your most productive method. Sure if you're diehard you can go...

Eat all the spots you want nobody cares about them??????? That is not true. That's why I put the smilie in there. I don't hate spots, but a lot of people do because of the damage they do to the LM population like you mentioned. I personally think spots fight better than LM and have never caught one...

Caught a nice football size fish on a spook last night and missed another. First spook fish of the year for me, and in a lake where the fish just started being active no more than a week ago.

Re: Trophy Sticks
Anybody use these baits? I saw them advertised on this site and they look pretty sweet. I was wondering what depth they run at and how well they work. Especially the 6.5" model. Dan Rechs I also saw the thread saying they were now a sponsor so I took a look. They should add more info on the si...

You guys that dont "Respect" Dee need to take a history lesson! This man has done more for bass fishing than most. He is in the Hall of fame. He is 71 years old and still kicking the young-un's a$$ and still living his dream. I'm not saying you have to "Like" him. But I think he...

Well this is out of left field, but... You pull the lawnmower out of hibernation. You glance in the gas tank, looks like a little gas is in there. You get the thing started, it runs for a few seconds but then dies. This happens several times. A few choice words and a kick and then off to the garage...
