What do you expect to see when zoomed in to 20ft on land? How far is it from your garage to the nearest MAIN street? My bad Ed i was just doing what you said before to zoom in as much as i can lol Sorry for all the newbie-ness but i think it's just me not used to the HDS series as i had a hook on m...

Re: Issue w/ HDS 7 Gen 3 not showing current location
Here are couple quick pics from the other night The first pic attached is zoomed out The second is zoomed in So it shows my general location when zoomed out but no detail when zoomed in so maybe it is just interference from my garage? Guess i should try to bring the boat out in to open air to see wh...

Some things to look at. 1 make sure you are not in ‘simulator mode’ 2 try zooming IN extremely close. 3 make sure you have a clear view of the sky. Yes a pic would help us. Edd I'll double check all those and will snap a pic or quick vid tonight after work! The one thing i did not do was have a cle...

Where did it show you? It didn't show much of anything! It's been years since I mounted the charger and looking at it for a long time. I used 2 each 90 degree angle brackets 8" X 1" X 1/8" thick and 8" wide X 11" long x 3/4" marine plywood board. The brackets screwed to a flat battery mounting surface and the charger bolted...

Re: Any of you run your battery chargers NOT "on board"
NOCO is sealed and waterproof. Mine is inside the rear compartment on the transum. Some boats have them inside the rear dry storage compartment running the wire through the side. Also keep in mind AGM's don't need to be mounted upright, nothing to spill out! Stay with the group 27 size cranking bat...

Hey Pat, Not sure what your space looks like, but could you mount the charger to the underside if the rear compartment lid? I just saw a pic of someones rig who did that and it looked interesting - definitely saved space! In my boat, the previous owner added a plank that covers the bilge area behin...

Re: Any of you run your battery chargers NOT "on board"
NOCO Genius 3 is a small compact onboard charger that works good and saves space. The RV plug/receptacle is a good idea. Why anyone still uses wet cell deep cycle marine batteries today is beyond comprehension. I used Trojan SCS225 series wet cells with a watering system for 15 years, good batterie...

Contemplating saving space and weight off the back of the boat and was just wondering how many of you run say a 3 bank charger but wire it with quick disconnects so you can plug in all batteries when at home and then disconnect and leave charger and wires at home. Also i'd like to upgrade my crankin...
