My house is in Riviera West. We have our own ramp, docks, & small park area on the lake. I drop my boat in & am fishing in a minute! We’re close to a supermarket, plus an easy 15-20 minutes to Kelseyville or Lakeport. The fire hazard is a real concern, but l chose this area for the fishing a...

What caused the boat doing 61mph in the first video to react like that? It didn’t look like they hit a big wave or an object.

I have a 2012 Ram 4x4 crew with the Hemi engine. It pulls both my Ranger Z19 with tandem axles & my Champion 203 tandem which is pretty heavy with ease. I used to have a GMC Yukon before that & it did well on the highway but struggled a bit in the mountains. As far as needing 4x4, it comes i...

Re: Need help out of state. Eastman or clear lake
Eastman was killing it about a month ago on jigs at night, the extreme hot weather seems to have slowed things down. It’s a smaller lake. At Clear Lake you have a better chance of getting a monster or two. Also, there’s just a lot more water to fish at Clear Lake and it’s one of the destination bass...

Threw the frog south yesterday evening and early this morning. There were no strikes this morning as the water was calm and dead. No fish rolling or breaking water, it was eerily quiet! We also threw the Whopper with only a few half hearted slaps. Only had one blow up in the evening that produced a ...

Well, I prefer night fishing. You avoid jetskis & ski boats, you dont have to fight for your spots, it’s cooler, quieter & you catch some really nice fish! Also, you see more shooting stars in 30 nights than most people see in a lifetime! I’m also a hard core night owl!

If you're staying at the old Ferndale Resort, that area is a great place to fish. Right behind the paddlewheel boat & the wall always held fish. It gets pretty weedy there, but Carolina rigged double wides & 10" power worms always did well there! You're really close to Henderson & t...

The lake is loaded with baitfish (shad) right now so the bite can be tough. Move around & throw different baits. There was a good smallmouth bite at Mendocino last week. Hopefully by the time you get up there, things will have changed from last week.

you're probably better off taking the 5 all the way up & cutting over at Williams on SR20. (Unless you like good Chinese food, there's the Spring Garden in Woodland! lol) You take Main St thru town & turn left on Cottonwood. Main takes you SR16 which hits SR20!

Jig fishing is good this time of year at Clear Lake. Jimmy at Clearlake Bait & Tackle has an excellent selection of Rodstrainer jigs that are one of my favorites to throw here. I'd use 1/2 oz as the wind is starting to pick up & you can always ask Jimmy where they are hitting around the lake!
