Re: Bantam1, Core Comparison????

They are all different size reels. The Core 50 is the smallest, followed by the Core 100 then the Curado. 50 vs 100 vs 200. All the spool sizes are different.

Re: Citica 200e7 Right Side Plate Removal

If you open the left side plate you will see a flat head screw near the line guide end. This is actually a screw that passes through the line guide into the right side plate. Remove this and the side plate will come off.

Re: new crucial spinning rod

The 7'6" will be a great rod for soft plastics and popping cork applications. In Texas they tend to use a little lighter action rods for redfish and trout. Typically you are fishing shallow enough that you only need 1/8-1/4 ounce jig heads so any of the rods you listed will be perfect.

It is a little wider, but the location of the line guide, spool height and several other variables help control this. We did lots of testing and determined this is the way to go with the new D model. Re: New Calcutta D

The spools are narrower but taller on the new D model. This is why we eliminated the non disengaging level wind. You now have less friction from the line guide moving as you cast. The D also has more cranking power with X-Ship. Don't knock it until you try it.

By moving the handle closer to the reel you get less wobble and more torque transfer. Typically you shouldn't have to play with the drag that much once you set it for the line you are using.

Tell them to cast the reel. They will be able to determine what is going on. It sounds like you have the spool tension set too loose which allows the spool to walk in the frame.

If you have a 2500 reel with the 3000 spool then you will need the spool and dragh knob. The knob on the 2500 is different (RD13263). Are you sure you are using the correct drag knob? Try switching them and see if this makes a difference.

Depends on the size jig, line class and cover you plan to fish. The CUCX72MH is a good all around jig rod. We make the CUC74H for heavier cover and heavier jigs (3/4-1). I like the CUC72MH for 3/8-1/2 ounce jigs in light cover with 12#.
