Hi Louie,
They are currently closed with a sign that does not say when/if they will reopen...no one around seems to know either. I have had clients stay there on many occasions and they were very pleased.

Re: Boat Mechanics In Shasta Lake area
Ditto. I travel almost 3 hours one way to have those guys in your back yard do work on my rig. Eddie, Don, and of course Calvin have not only done great work for me, the service has been cooperative and timely.

Re: which one? mustang or SOSpenders
Steven, I have worn the SOSpenders since they became Coast Guard approved in the late 80's. The comfort of both brands is similar, floatation is similar, price is substantially different, and the auto inflate feature works differently. Last year I broke down and switched to the Mustang auto due to m...

Re: powell rods
You have been given some real good models to check out in the previous replies. Let me add that specifically for topwater, take a look at the CB706. What I like about it is how light it feels in your hand. We use this rod for Ricos to spooks and it is also a great light to medium weight crankbait ro...

Re: powell 735 question
Hi Ryan,
It will work fine for those baits. I am using that same rod for small River to Sea bottom walkers, Kamakazee (basstrix type), Baby E's, and fish traps on 1/2 oz heads.
Good luck,
Ross

Congrats on a good fish Rich. I could not stand it anymore and had to offer my two cents. Those of you enjoying the benefits right now of the great fishery you have, stop and take a moment to give credit to the folks who chose to make a difference and effect a change. The Stockton bass club called t...

Re: Help for Clear Lake
Hi Ron, First of all, be extremely careful running around in that area...the water is low and there is stuff to hit in that bay outside the marina entrance/exit. Secondly, be prepared to have company as the WON Bass Tri States event is taking place at the end of that week expecting around 125 teams....

New Clear Lake tournament record
Congrats to Russ Stansbury and Andy Parsons for posting a new one day tournament record for a 5 fish limit on Clear Lake. They brought over 44 pounds to the scales Sunday during the Holder Ford team tournament including an 11 and a 14. As the former record holder with almost 42 pounds, let me be the...

Re: Big fish on dropshot??
My pb of 11-12, as well as a 10-12 and 10-2 have fallen to a drop shot worm in less than 5 feet of water...and not by sight fishing. One of my clients caught a 10.25 this year drop shotting. Over the past several years both myself and clients have caught well over 50 fish past the 5 lb mark by drop ...

Re: Tough decision!!!!!!!!
In a normal year, look toward the last 1/3 of June as having some of the best fishing and least amount of boat activity. Avoid the 4th of July period and there is a major event in August called Boardstock that messes up a week. In August as well, the water color will start changing in some areas tha...

Re: Thru Hull of Transome mount?
Hey Stan, One of the tech guys from Lowrance shared with me that the difference between the best thru-hull installation and an in-the-water installation of a transducer was almost a 25% reduction in performance. Based on that information, I had a friend drill the holes in my transom because I could ...
