Try posting this over at bass boat central, sounds like your issue is when it had a load on it, one simple thing to check is for fuel starvation, seams dumb but check the hose for any break down, the ethnol in the fuel nowadays is tearing motors up, it breaks down the inner liner in the hose and can...

I'll answer my own question, went to the Fred hall show opening night and there's no reel repair seminars, but there was a great Seminar by Barry Brightenberg lastnite on Saltwater fishing with Shimano gear.

Don't forget about the dawia luna 300 and the older cv-z 300 millionaires, I also like the 300 d curado's for the punkers or other top water styles stuff, all can be had used for cheap, just make sure anything you buy used isn't hammered.
