Have him try from Standfeild cut off from the north corner to the the launch ramp with topwater and small jerkbaits in the grass lanes. Also you can try the marina's but they don't like it sometimes.

You had it right Hutch. Too bad the new WON BASS wanted to make us choose who to fish but I will bet they will find out the hard way that fishing Havasu (NBW) or Clear lake (Anglers Choice) for boats is way better than fishing New Melones (WON) for outboards.
