All Concrete Ramps at Lake Oroville are out of the Water.

Press release from Dept of Parks and Rec states the only ramp available is on a gravel road at Bidwell. Due to steep grades, it is limited to 4 wheel Drive vehicles only.

I read something on this subject written by a guy with a Basscat . He said if he cranked his tongue jack as far up as it would go the front trailer wheels would raise off the floor slightly and he could pivot the trailer on the back two wheels for maneuvering in the garage . Might be worth a try......

Expanding use of water desalination and water recycling
For me, this is the best line in this announcement. Desalination is the only way to actually create more water. Everything else is just shuffling around what we have.

Wow, come in with a 20 lb bag with your chest all puffed out and then find you are not even in the top 50! And they are almost all small mouth! 100 pounds of smallmouth is definitely possible if not likely.

I have had recent failures with a double uni-knot, when trying to pull snags loose. This is with 20# power pro and 16# Sunline braid tied to 8# Seaguar Red box flouro. Great story, we go out of Fort Bragg a couple times a year to get rock cod and Lings for the freezer. If you really want to get into the Lings, go in December. You can also double up on crab.

I have not been there, but have found that most areas in Minnesota have places to rent boats. There are also a lot of guides. Do a web search for marinas and boat rental.

Since you stated it has an Optimax Pro XS that makes me think it is a replacement engine, not the original. I agree with the others about having a trusted mechanic give the boat and motor a once over. It is worth the cost of an hours shop labor. Be sure to have them check all the plumbing and wiring...

In previous boats I have used rod organizers. In my current boat I use rod sleeves or gloves, whatever you want to call them and I actually like that much better. I think It makes better use of the space and the rods don't get tangled up.

By the way, the bite is hot! Lot's of numbers with the occasional good 'un tossed in. For a while today if I went 4 or 5 five casts without a bite I was disappointed! And it was my first time on the lake.

Rod, Are you anchoring the pedal in place or leaving it loose to move around? Seems you could just get some longer bolts to put in the front pedal holes with a nut on either side, Then you can move the nuts up and down the bolt until you find the position that is comfortable. When are you planning on fishing it? As previous post stated, it does fish tough when muddy. Favorite go to bait for me is a BPS Avocado Tender Tube on a 1/4 oz jig head.
