Pricing themselves out of the market
When they ncreased the entry and lowered the payout, what should they expect? Fishermen are not that dumb. At the same time FLW is announcing 2.5 million dollar payouts! Plus very well run Everstart events. Bass has made their beds, now they are having to lay in them. I don't think gas prices have a...

Re: How would you fish this spot?
1st choice a bluegill crankbait, which one would depend on depth and water level. I think next would be a jig or bluegill colored zipper worm. You mention a point and current that comes around there, if there is a point and current, I would look for the eddy and that would be my prime spot to cast. ...

Arm yourself with a camera
If you have someone persistantly annoying you, pull the camera out and get their picture and CF numbers and call the sherriff. I'm not sure if CA has a law about harassing a fisherman or hunter, but some states do. This law was intended to protect us from animal rights activists, but maybe we could ...

Re: Artical from the Sac Bee about Danger for the Delta
Someone in the previous discussion asked for fish population data. Here is a link to the graphic that accompanied the article. I think the real thing to worry about is the major decline in the Copopods that fomr the base of the food chain, not just for the smelt, but for shad as well. The article ta...

There has not been a single comment about this article. They are talking about one of our most treasured fisheires collapsing here. Has anyone noticed the decline is shad? C'mon Delta regulars let us know your observations

BASS Regional schedule
I am convinced now that BASS is not a National Circuit. They just announced a 15 event schedule and have ignored 2/3rds of the country. 2 events in New York doesn't expand things much from the schedules of the last decade I'm sure I can find something else useful to apply my membership money towards...

Re: Super Spooks middle treble pros and cons
I like to put #2 hooks on the front and back and leave the middle hook a #4. That keeps the hooks from tangling with each other. I have even gone up to #1 and 1/0 when fishing for stripers. I used to use the Gami EWGs, but actually think I hook more fish with the round bend trebles. The EWGs may hol...

Re: six hour rule during summer; intent/bypassing
If it is a team event and you use a 5 fish per team limit then you can have two weigh-ins per day. That way you aare having 5 fish for each person and stay within the letter of the law.

"We recently saw the Classic won in the last 5 minutes of the tournament. Had that man had a boat that was a few miles an hour slower he may not have had that 5 minutes to use for fishing. " Interesting that you use the Classic as an example, in that event all the Anglers fished out of the...

Re: lake amador
Does anyone know how to fish lake amador in the summer? At night would be a good choice. I also remember one year in July when the bass were schooling on bait off shore. I used a Zara Spook off of mainlake points, sometimes over 30-40 feet of water and had a ball. I was still catching them between ...

Is there anything else in Idaho that is attracting your attention besides the low housing cost? I have never claimed to be as great a fisherman or as knowledgable about fishing as you are Dewayne. but I do know a few things about boats. Gary Yamamoto won the BASS 2005 Toyota Horizon Award as the most improved pro fisherman last year. He had Senkos before and after the new boat. He had his own rod line before and after the new boat. He had his own fluorocarbon line both before and after the new boat. Seems, the only thing that chan...

Origin of "Nutcase"
The term "Nutcase Classic" was coined by one Mick Kitchen aka Micster. It came about during a heated discussion of what single lure would be most productive on the Delta if you could have only one. Micster claimed his rattling crankbait similar to a rattle trap, but of another brand the na...

John, I think the point being made here that the only time some people speak up is to be critical. It sounds like the Angler's Choice folks did a great job last week-end. I'm sure they know it, I'm sure the fishermen know it and I'm sure the local folks who came out to watch the weigh-in know it. Do...
