Re: Boat build project
I fish out of a 14' aluminum, that I made into basically a mini bass rig. I keep the TM battery up front, you're going to have your motor and gas tank in the back already, so I don't see any reason to move the battery back there and add any additional weight. Mine already rides fairly low in the bac...

Re: To many broken rods
Could it be that with rods getting so much lighter and sensitive they are losing durability? Seems to me that with a lot of products there is really not much compromise between performance and durability. It's one or the other. Could this be why so many of the high end rods seem to break? I personal...

Nice, the Go Pro's are really impressive. I just got one for a good frined of mine and will be doing some fishing video on it soon. The one thing I don't like is it's a bit too wide angle, making everything seem so far away. So far all we have filmed with it is some moto stuff, which it is awesome f...

I've only used em for Perch fishing the beaches, Gulp Sandworms. Never tried them for bass. Never ever leave one on a hook and put your rod in the car and forget about it for a couple days. The damn things shrink up so crazy they are almost impossible to get off once they dry out.

Since we're on the subject of barometric pressure. What does it do during a series of storms like we are about to have? It's supposed to rain for the next week or so. Does it stay low though a series of storms? Or does it only drop as each storm moves in?

Santa Cruz harbor is getting WRECKED right now. Boats piled up everywhere, no injury reported yet, but a lot of people live on boats in the harbor, homes will be lost. I hope nobody gets hurt. This is way worse than expected and it's still going strong and getting stronger!

Could be O2 depleation, but 3 factors make it hard for me to believe. 1. is that it is the cold water time. Cold water holds far more O2 than warm water conditions. 2. This is tidewater and should get currents and fresh water influx twice a day. 3. If it had been rough seas, even more O2 should hav...

First off I am far from an expert, but a good place to start would be just about any top hook soft trout bait in 6-8" range slow rolled always making contact with the bottom and fish it uphill. There are tons of choices of baits out there, just pick a few and start slinging em.

There has got to be some reason they do it. They could just prefish out of their own boat, which I assume they own as they are "Pro" If it ain't to see other peoples spots, why not just prefish? seems like using your own boat and not being at the mercy of another boater would be a lot more...

I've never had that problem, and I think the palomar is the best knot for a DS rig.

I fish clear water though, and I make long casts. I can't have 4 feet of line hanging off the tip and expect to cast very far. I would rather fish straight braid, but haven't because I can't stop thinking that the fish can see the line and probably don't like it much.

I've seen the pics of the mussels there, it's crazy. I'm sure they have caused problems for the pumps and pipes in the lake. In the pics I saw they were almost completely covering the shore where the water once was. It's bad.

Ok so you fish your 6 matches in your region, then what? Is there just one winner per region or will the regional winners fish against the winners of the other regions? Is there some kind of season championship? Is there money to the winners? Prizes? There is a lot that is not explained on the flyer.

lol Dan. None of what you just posted has ANYTHING to do with "turnover"
The turnover is when the surface water cools to a temp lower than the water below it. The cooler water sinks to the bottom forcing the now warmer water to the surface. hence the water "Turns over"
