Good News. If any of you have a youth hunter, please take advantage of the outstanding youth hunts offered by CWA. Check out thier website. Also if you can take a youth to the special hunt at Klamath Wildlife Refuge you wont be sorry. My son will turn 16 on Sept 21 so he cannot go this year.

Re: Los Banos Reservoir Help info
It's a small lake with a 5 mph speed limit. You can drop the trolling motor right at the ramp and go left to the dam or go right and fish the trees and tules. There is a grass patch on the left side of the swim beach that will hold some good fish. The back end of the lake is a large flat with scatte...

If you have an in line fuse holder take it apart and visually look at the fuse, you should be able to see a small wire running the length of the glass, if not and there is a black flash burn area the fuse is blown. Also check that the fuse holder is making connection to the fuse, I had to change one...

There were a few weeds but I think the water was higher and they weren't on top. But it did seem that there was less than in years past. I did notice a bunch of no parking signs in area, can you not park by the bridge anymore? We parked at the wildlife area and walked over.

Regardless of who is to blame for the fish kill, I think the anglers should have taken it upon themselves to clean up the situation that transpired. If there was "100" dead fish then only 20 fishermen could of picked up 5 fish each and cleaned them and used the resource. Personally I do no...

Re: Dose Don Pedro or New Melonie Put Out Bigger Bass ?
Joe, so I take it you didn't catch a big one last Sat at Melones? I would say Pedro has more big fish, but as Joe mentioned there is a lot more pressure there aand more tourneys so it gets more exposure. There was a 45 lb limit weighed in earlier this year at Melones, so there are nig fish there too.

I always wanted to fish there when I lived in Fresno, but had no boat at the time. There are fish in there and it looks alot like the delta. The water that fills it I beleive is from the San Joaquin River and from the Delta-Mendota canal, so anything that swims in the delta is likely to be there too...

I have better luck with the leader being mono as it will help float the bait up off the bottom a little. I typically use 12 lb in the lakes and will go down to 8 on a spinning rod if needed.

I never broke a rod until I started buying the more expensive models. Go to Walmart and pick up aa few and you won't break them. However giving up the feel, weight, balance is not worth it. Abuse and using the wrong rod for the job is always a big culprit.
