I think it's great you puT your anglers safety first- I fished up there once in hail, and once in snow- and was lucky to get home the snow day. I did get frostbitten skin on my face, and it was one miserable experience!

You guys need to get a real side-scanning sonar unit! You cut a hole in the bottom, glass in a tube the transducer retracts into, then you can find squid, shipwrecks, buried treasure, the ark, etc. You will have true 3D images in a complete circle, and have totally "pimped your ride!"

Re: Mercury EFI outboard problem
great ideas- also check the voltage at idle- my efi was doing same thing, I changed the fuel lines and etc.- still had problem, then checked voltage- mine would run up to 17 volts at low speeds- causes engine to shut down. It would always restart. Replaced Voltage regulator(s)- never a problem now.
Re: Casitas?
Well, it's not quite as good as some past winters. I caught a nice fish on a jig along with some smaller jig fish last week. It would probably be ok if I was fishing really deep, but it's hard on fish. It'll get better in a month, and you can go with me or borrow my boat if you'd like. Good to hear ...

I like Yamahas, but the number of dealers is limited somewhat. If you look at the ratings of 4 strokes, you'll notice that Yamaha is ranked well above Honda in consumer satisfaction. All local patrol agencies use Yamaha 4 strokes. I've used several Honda- I'd avoid the larger ones. My preference for...

IF you register a NRX rod, they send you a "wild card"- you can exchanged a broken rod at a retailer 1 time for free, no questions asked- same model rod you broke. After that, it's warranty or expediator.

Well, I've had 5 Yamahas and about 7 Mercs, with 4 Envinrudes thrown in, so here's my .02's worth. IF it's an ocean boat- Yamaha 4 strokes are the far superior engines of all in all HP ratings. If it's a 2 stroke, well then Mercury in any sort of boat, but EXTEND the warranty! If it's a bass boat fo...
