Nothing to ponder on that example, kb. The same regulation also defines a hook as having a point, or multiple points in the case of a treble. So by definition, if you cut off the point it is no longer a hook by the regulation's definition.

So by definition an Alabama Rig with only 3 hooks (despite 5 swimbaits) would be tournament legal in California unless the TD declares it illegal by their own tournament rule (like trolling is often declared illegal for tournament purposes).

If you ask me the fishing regulations are simple and clear. If you use the Alabama Rig and use 3 swimbaits with hooks, and two with no ho ok, by the California Regs as written that would be legal because only the swimbaits with hooks qualify as a "lure." kb's quote is correct, but the part...

There are a few other states that require you to tow at 55 or 60. Washington is 60. Nope, Washington is the same speed as autos unless specially marked. I lived in California when the 55 mph law went into effect for towing. The excuse was often cited as being for safety, but that is a cover story; ...

I have tested them before. They are well worth the price and do work well for those who carelessly let loops get on their spinning reel spool, so yes, it would be good for kids. I don't personally care for the round knob handle style, but again for kids this may help some to crank the reel. They are...

No, with the HDS5-5x you get only sonar, no mapping. You can hook up its own sonar transducer, and network them together, but you cannot view gps waypoints on the 5x because it has no mapping page. On the other hand, you can add an HDS-5m on the bow. This is a "display only unit" meaning t...
