Hi Guys, Being a past DFG'er and working for Dennis Lee the most knowledgeable fish biologist in California, when we would get new ideas like this, we would discuss the pros and cons and really think about it. Now, Dennis is retired and DFG has changed a lot. It's a shame something as stupid as this...

Re: West Coast Bass Pro-Ams
I have to agree with Gary on this one. I've fished both sides and when it was not shared weight, a lot of the time the pro could care less what I was doing therefore I wasn't learning much, and he really didn't leave me much water to fish. That just sucks. With shared weight the pro will help you an...

Thanks for the comments guys,(except for Stretch)haha.
I'm glad to see it wasn't just me. For this time of year I have never had this tough of a day. Dragging about 10 of the hottest prespawn areas without a touch was disappointing. I will try it again soon.
Thanks, Rod

Folsom on Saturday-Worst Day Ever-Anyone Else Fish Today?
Hi Everyone, I took a father and son out to Folsom today that had never bass fished. I fished north and south mouths and inside spawning coves with carolina rigs from 5 to 20 feet. I used various worms and lizards. Another bass boat came in at 1:00pm and they didn't have one bite either. My question...

KB's thread brought back alot of good memories. You fished for second place because Gary ...

Mrskeeter,
You are so right. Millerton is another lake to add to your list. When I used to shock Millerton you would not believe the amount of 8-12 inchers in that lake. On the same note, Oroville could use some thinning out.
Take care,
Rod Brown

It is documented by DFG studies that spotted bass can spawn to depths of 24 feet. Smallmouth and Largemouth 10 feet. With our reservoirs dropping drastically during the prime spawning season the spot eggs survive and the LMB and SMB eggs die. Multiply that year after year and the spots win. Good Fis...
