An fyi for you. They do have a radar gun. I have seen it many times at tournament morning launch. The will radar gun every boat and tell me if anyone is going over the speed limit of 35 not 40. he had to back out from the open after day 1 heat stroke is what I heard. I also heard 5 others went to the hospital and a couple more today. these are all upper lake fish. have not heard of any in the Lagoon yet.

re spool on to another reel so you can use it. If it is Mono no big thing anyway since mono is not very expensive. If premium Fluro re spool on to another reel. The top will be the bottom in the spool and it will be fresh fluro you are useing on the top of the reel.

it is always 10 a.m. I usually just make it on time as I leave work at 9:30. It takes me a half hour onthe nose to get there.

the public has no real reason to go. It is for tournament organizations to get there schedules with permits.

This is horrible news. We knew he was going to fish and with no cell reception at the lake we were unable to contact anyone nor be contacted by anyone. I am truly sorry to hear this and will be keeping his family in my prayers. Wish I could say more at this time but am in shock about it right now.

type in searchlight to get a better forecast. Laughlin is below the dam and a little calmer. Sometimes you can get Katherines landing as well.

no. I use my split shot gear. Works the best. I use live bait or gulp. Very cheap way to go and fish. Pearch are a blast as well as the corbina. Few halibut mixed in but not many.

tides depend on the moon. Not wind. Incomming tides are best but outgoing are ok as well. Current is a big deal. Also try on a grunion run as this will be bait in tHe water. I am not a big pier guy but do a lot of surf fishing.

The water level is stil going up. Launch from Juan Fernandez. Good ramp and all. I still see water going in at the big coves. There is also water going in Piru creek as well as an underground spring pouring water in fast. The lake is going up at a rate of close to a foot a week.

Tony was a stud this season. He was so close to winning but A.O.Y. is a great reward to get. Region 7 has some of the toughest anglers in it and to beat them is a real deal guys.

Congrats to Tony Cap. He is the region 7 A.O.Y. Also congrats to the top 19 anglers who qualified for the State championship to be held at Lake Havasu Oct. 1st and 2nd. Good luck to all of you and make Region 7 proud. On a side note I would like to thank all the anglers who fished region 7 this year...
