Re: Replacing Lowrance Fish Finder with Same Transducer
Maybe LMS 240 or 320? Could even be old Eagle like DF480. Doubt you can find any of this old stuff, what length boat is (was) this on? I believe that cord part number is PC-21X. Hold on.....I was paying too much attention to the plug and overlooked the mount. Maybe old Elite or early Hook model.

Simply put.....one transducer vs two.
The product with mid/high LSS-HD has 2 transducer and the other has a single TotalScan transducer.
Check the product description for each as there could also be mapping differences or options.

Re: help on down loading new updates
Hi George, As a safety factor to your data (maps etc.) you should always remove your cards prior to updating any unit. Lowrance recognizes any brand of Micro SD card and up to a 32G max size. 3D requires a module but SS-HD is built into the Carbon. You can always add 3D if you decide you want that feature.

Re: Lowrance struct. Scan or HD Module whats the difference?
There is a huge difference between HD and 3D. You may not find a need for 3D but, the 3D module gives you more side-2-side area to view. If your budget can stand a few hundred more, go with the 3D. If not, the SS-HD will work great, especially with the latest 'FishReveal' upgrade.

Re: HDS carbon chirrp HST-WSBL transducer
Don't misunderstand 'cone angle' for 'frequency', or 'frequency band'. Each xdcr has a cone angle for the crystal, and the most common are 6, 8, 12, 20, and a wide 25. I am not positive what cone angle the TM150 has, but, the other factor to consider is 'wattage' or 'power'. Most OEM transducers are...

Re: HDS carbon chirrp HST-WSBL transducer
If you want to take full advantage of the CHIRP feature in your Carbons you will need something like the Airmar TM185c-HW which is a dedicated CHIRP transducer using the 150-250 kHz band. Also gives you a sweet WIDE 25* cone angle. I have installed many of these and NO complaints so far. I use this ...

How would I connect them both up to function properly? You can't connect them both easily. Not only that, the TS ducer is dominate so it will always be the 2D ducer when you have 2 connected. URGENT READ! Guys I was mistaken on this post (thinking different brand boat).......IF you try to mount the TotalScan transducer to the transom you MUST keep it above the 'high speed' waterline and that sort of defeats the purpose of the TotalScan xdcr. So these TotalScan xdcr's are somewhat of a pain to install properly. It can be successfully mounted on the transom on the starboard side. The key is to NOT use the screws that come with the package because the will not hold that big transducer at high speeds. You must use #10 x 1.25" stainless...
