I am on the Minn Kota pro-staff and no, you do not need a jack plate to install a Talon. However, you will need to remove your motor to install the talon mount so that it can be sandwiched between the transom and the motor. You will need to get a spacer for the other side if you decide to use only o...

You might consider the Stealth Charger, both AC and DC. It weighs about 1/3rd the weight as the Dual Pro and it will charge all your batteries while you run your big motor.

The best way to check your batteries is to fully charge them and let them sit for an hour before you take the readings. A fully charged battery should read 13.2 A reading of 12.5 means your battery is half gone. That's why your batteries aren't lasting. Time to look for new batteries Rico, I think ...

Marley, How old are your batteries? The load test the auto parts store did isn't going to tell you much from a duration/capacity perspective. Basically the test will tell you that they are holding a charge and there isn't anything physically wrong with them. They are a little out of balance, but not...

If you can find a really good trailer repair shop, they may have the seals and possibly bearings. If you got it that hot, the bearings may have also turned blue.
