Both carp and channel cats have air bladders that return sonar signal like bass.
Trout usually with small air ladders are swimming returning elongated sonar returns, easy to distinguish. Not sure if Camanche has squaw fish- Pike Minnows they stack up on the bottom in deep water.

The active rhythm periods for animals as applied to bass is different for each lake because their ecosystem is diverse. Remember the term pig ‘n jig? Well pig means pork rind and jig means a weedless bass jig like Cooch’s Wadda Jig. Cooch fished both but mostly with blue pork rind in the River (Delta).

Soft plastics are far more popular today then pork rind for several reasons, more colorful and hundreds of different shapes and sizes. Pork trailers only has 1 advantage, big bass prefer it. I don’t use a weedgaurd! I use a (Hitchhiker) spring attached to the jig eye and use a small diameter finesse worm cut 1 1/2”, split the tail to insert the hook point. Adds a little movement, color and scent. Been doing this for decades, works good.

Buying a used or pre owned bass boat is risky in regards to who owned the boat, how it was stored and maintained. We forget that Northern strain LMB that population the lower Colorado River/Imperial reservoir are not Florida strain we have become familiar with 10 lb NLMB is equal to a 15 lb FLMB imo.
