I have also had problems with USPS. 2 of the last 3 time rods were damaged. Here is an example: Tube shows up with a tire print. Local postal agent had the nerve to say it wasn't packed well. Remember, when talking about which rod is better, the answers you get will be completely subjective. Having used both the 705CB Glass & the 705CBMF Glass, I prefer the 'fast' action rod. Keep in mind that even though it is listed as a fast action that rating is relative. Perhaps it should be lis...

Tried the 5:1 reels & am now back to all reels being 7:1. I really didn't like the 5:1 when fishing crankbaits with the current.
I found it easier to slow down than to speed up.
As noted above, with cranks you have to be disciplined or you can turn the handle too fast.

Yes :D Just gotta find out what the fish want. Sometimes it is long glides with occasional pauses. When it moves again, they hit it. Sometimes it is constant movement with a medium speed/length of glide. When they wake or roll behind it but don't take it, change it up to make 'em take it. Sometimes ...

Think of "paraboilic" as a shock absorber. The more parabolic the rod, the more shock it absorbs from anything pulling it. This helps minimize the degree of "pull" or "leverage" a fish may apply to the hooks or line. It can pull, but the stress is transferred to the ro...

Stick with the Gamakatsu Split Shot/Dropshot Hooks instead of the Owner's. Jerkbaits work really well. Also a fish trap, or a top hook osprey swimbait. On jerkbaits (Lucky Craft Pointer, Rapala XRap) consider putting stronger hooks on. When nose hooking dropshot baits, I prefer the Owner Mosquito hooks. They have a very slight bend inward @ the hook point. I would describe them as a very subtle circle hook. I feel they work better because of that bend.
