Re: NOOB question: G Loomis GLX vs Dobyns

I can't answer for the Loomis rod as I'm not familiar with it. The the DC 804CB is an 8 foot Mod Fast crankbait rod. You can go up in power to an 805CB or an 806CB with us if you need more power and a Mod action. I have lots of rods stiffer than 804 CB. If I can help, let me know. THX!!!!

Re: XD Crankbait Rod

Dobyns is very strong with CB rods. We make many models from 6'3" to 8 footers. It seems you're looking at deeper divers and here's what I'd suggest. 805CB- best baits are DD22 and 6XD sized baits. It'll throw an 8XD decent. It'll throw a 10 XD but it requires a lob style cast and you will not ...

Yes you can but you need to pay attention to the spline of the rod for guide placement. Also, the powers very a lot between casting and spinning. I did this once with Dobyns Rods. Truthfully I'm not sure it matters to the fish. This is almost always a reaction bite anyway. Just think with a heavy weight how fast that bait goes by them. I stay simple, Green Pumpkin and June Bug. I think it matters more to the angler than it does the fish. So throw your favorite. My 2 cents.

This will depend on which jerk baits your throwing. Let's just say it's a Vision 110 which is hugely popular bait. This bait does not have a big bill so it doesn't pull hard. You could get by with a 2 power spinning rod or a 3 power, which is Med Light in a 2 and Medium in a 3. It'll depend on the a...
