When is the weather bad enough to cancel a tournament?
The only fishermen on the water, on the west coast today are bass tourny guys. Why the reluctance of TD's to cancel tournaments or reschedule when such dangerous conditions are prevailing? Are there industry standards that TD's look at when determining if the show should go on? Does the industry wan...

How about a fishing report on Folsom. So many struggle at Folsom that it's been glossed "The Dead Sea". Post a report and help someone get on a bite and have the confidence to bet on themselves.

Bass West USA mag is better than BASSMASTER mag, anytime.
Bass West USA mag has the best pictures in the fishing business. I haven't done any math but I bet that statistically, they are the best for pictures. Thank you to the team for a nice mag. It has been a few years since my BASSMASTER mag expired, but a friend gave me some recent copies and I couldn't...

FBL vs. WON at Folsom
I noticed recent tournaments drew more for FBL than WON. What's the difference, benefits of WON or FBL?
Someone post a report about Folsom. How yall catching them 4+ fish and how them folks getting 13+?

You might need a special license to possess so many bugs. I believe there might be a possession limit on crayfish. Maybe bait are concidered differently than sport caught craws so call California Dept. of Fish and Game to be safe. I would suggest using both red swamp craws and Pacific craws as the r...

Unlawful waste of fish
I see it when I am on the river, you know that guy who is compelled to throw that "trash fish" up on the bank because it eats fish eggs or the young. I now see it in forums and reports on various websites where participants are advocating destroying and leaving a fish for waste because it ...

Hazardous Materials Suit for Duck Hunting Delta
With all the hype and some rightfully so, about the Avian Flu, I was wondering if Cabela's had come out with a camo. version. I should not joke about such a serious subject, but how might this affect the hunters in North America in coming years. Those swarming, white flocks of what-ever geese at the...

Re: Basscat Stolen
Hey Sac guys and everyone, Maybe CHP can check the highway cams for your boat. I bet they drove on a few selected highways to go from point A to point B during time period C to D. Just a thought. Now for my story. Boat theives came through my prestigious Citrus Heights neighborhood in May. They ran ...

five mile/hour zones and off-limits for Folsom FPT Sept. 17
Is the five mile/hour zone still south of Anderson Island up the North Fork and where is the five up the South fork. Will there be any off-limit areas other than the host marina?

How will Hurricane Katrina affect the bass
Anyone have some experience? I'm guessing it will salinate and change hundreds of square miles of freshwater bass fishing. Maybe some Pro's hotspot is now salinated and void of bass. Damn. Imagine the stench if all the carp, bass, catfish, hitch, etc. in Clear Lake died at the same time. P.U.. Speak...

Re: question for guides
Maybe taking them fishing from a row boat or the bank might get them home sooner. Vote for a different President or enlisting yourself would really help them come home sooner. But filling up our gas guzzling trucks and boats will just keep them there longer. I know I'm gonna get pummeled for this po...

Those fish are in every hole deep enough for salmon. They especially like wood, abutments and big rip rap roccks, pipes with flowing water. I fish and SCUBA dive in the river and most commonly see them in water that is head high or deeper and water that is still or just barely moving (They like the ...

Nice tip for night fishing
Tape glow sick to favorite buoy and objects. Tape to weight of markers for sumgerged rockpiles with on float also. Employed this at Shasta recently and it worked well after a long run in the moonless night. It is best when the moon is up to make long moves it is really dark out there when there is n...

nice info, more questions
Great observations and information. I have observed this occupation of shallows by otherwise palegic black bass on Folsom, Shasta and Oroville. I agree about that 20' range for black bass. What are good methods when a school moves off and you have pulled and lost a few alpha fish. ( I use this term ...

Do black bass change depths during any given day?
I read many posts and hear fishermen talk of black bass moving up shallower and down deeper during given periods of the day/night, but given black bass cannot burp (closed swimbladder), I imagine that they are physiologically limited to a narrow range of depths that they can occupy during a given da...
