Re: Clear Lake Algae Bloom - When Will It Start Clearing?
Probably not until the lake cools and turns over will it be "clear" again. Remember, this is "floating" type alge and it's somewhat clear underneath.
Re: boat ?
Depends on the age of your boat as to warrantee, but most boats will experance this. I think a lot of it is due to the way it's driven in rough water. The pounding the wave puts a lot of stress on them and the longer the boat the more they can be stressed. Slow down in rough water and learn to "...

You'll also need a certified weight on the TRAILER only. This is the hardest part. Launch somewhere you can leave the boat or leave someone with it and get an UNLAIDEN CERTIFIED weight at the nearest public scale.
Re: bass lake
Go somewhere else if you want to fish !!!! The lake is taken over by skiers from May to Sept. It's a 5 mph from 8 pm to 8am, then look out. The lake is a big "bowl" and once the skiers start the wave motion, it never stops until they're off the water. The waves have no flat bank to disapat...

I still feel there is a need for some kind of seat restraint needed in a boat that is capable of speeds in excess of 35 mph. Yeah I know, nobody wants to be "strapped" in if a boat flips upside down, but how many "flips" do you hear of vs how many "ejections" do you hea...

It depends on what you are trying to simulate. Double for crawdads and single for bait fish. At least that's the way I do it.

I agree with Hardshell wholeheartedly. Pre-fish is designed to learn the lake at that peticular time, where the better fish are, what they'll eat, etc, etc. Any one who goes out and lands every fish they can is not using the pre-fish properly. I've fished the Red River and I too believe it's going to be a flip bite. Lots and lots of standing and fallen timber. The amount of inflow will determain the position of the fish. The river tends to get "chocolate" real fast with a lot of inflow from the rain. Senkos and jigs should produ...
