Help w/ Towing w/ a hitch extension and cabover camper

Anyone tow with a cabover camper and hitch extension? I just bought a cabover camper and was told that if I use and extension adapter, I will lose 1/3 of the towing capacity. With that said the hitch rating on my 3/4 ton truck is 1000 tongue and 7500 tow. So my available towing at the hitch w/ exten...

I have a 04 GMC 2500HD diesel w/ the stock receiver hitch. I called the dealer and was told I have a class III hitch.

If thats the case, I have 5000/3 for tow and 500/3 for tongue. Looks like I need to upgrade to a class IV

Advice on towing w/ extension hitch

Anyone tow with an extension hitch? I have a camper on a 3/4 ton truck which requires me to use an extension hitch 18".

I heard you lose tow/tongue capacity by doing this.....how big of a boat can I now tow?

Also, how much is a hitch upgrade class III to IV or IV to V ?

I had a pin hole leak in my lower unit. Was told that the gearcase does not build up pressure so I gave JB Weld a try. Lasted over 5 years before I sold the boat.

Put a good coating of paint, a label or thin coat of silicone over your bondo job for extra protection.

I dont have one and was wondering if it is right for me. The recessed pedal seems more difficult to work as you have to extend your foot below the deck line which causes you to reach down with the toes of your foot or heel. With the traditional mount, fully turning rt or left gets you from 4" f...
